Alice sat at the breakfast table with her earbuds carelessly shoved in her ears, bobbing her head to the beat of a song. She stuffed a piece of toast in her mouth, turned up the volume on her iPod, and looked back towards the shadow of the form that approached her. Gina said for the thousandth time that night. She sat on the bed, her strapless red dress looking perfectly gorgeous on her. Her jet-black hair was pulled up into an elegant chignon (as I had been told her hairdo was called). Her red and silver bracelets jingled as she bounced up and down with excitement.

I burst into the dressing room, still high from the girl’s - Kayla’s - intoxicating presence. I ripped the golden facade - the same mask we had used in the “But It’s Better if You Do” video - from my face.
Jon was spralwed on the couch, asleep, his blue mask lying on his chest. Spencer sat, reading, shirtless, at Jon’s feet, Eric was kicking a hacky sack and Ryan was curled in the chair, texting. It was a common scene for the band.

We finished off the rendition of “Happy Birthday” and merged straight into our last song, “Mad as Rabbits”. Ryan handed Gina one of our many tambourines and she played along with us, grinning. I plunged into the song, beaming out over the crowd. It was the band’s absolute favorite song to play live.
